Introduction
This is just a simple tribute to my favourite musical in the world Phantom of the Opera by Andrew lloyd Webber. I have seen the show four times and I still long to see it again! I got the soundtrack as I saw Sarah Brightman on it as Christine. Her voice is like an Angel's and if you dont by this soundtrack you will kick yourself! I suppose hearing Sarah in this made me become a huge fan of hers and I simply lover her other music.
History of the Show
The Phantom musical was an inspiration from the book by Gaston Leroux. The musical is based around the paris opera house and we closely follow the lives of three people: Erik-who has a disfigured figure has fallen madly in love with one of the chorus girls in the opera Christine. At the same time Raoul is also in love with Christine and needless to say the phantom gets very angry with them. But in the end love wins!
Andrew's musical opened on Thursday 9th October 1986, and is still one of the most popular musicals on broadway today.
Sarah Brightman
In many ways her success to her career had started from this musical and she will probably be known for the part of Christine in years to come!
